LYNNWOOD — A woman was dragged from her car at random during a carjacking Friday afternoon near Alderwood mall, according to a Lynnwood police.
The incident happened at about 2:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Lamps Plus at 3611 196th St. SW, police said.
The suspect, a man in his 20s or 30s who has since been arrested, stopped his RV and wandered out into traffic while waving a gun, police wrote in a news release. He then reportedly shot at the woman’s car, a Honda Insight. After pulling her from the vehicle, the carjacker jumped in and drove west toward Highway 99.
The victim, in her 20s, was not hurt.
By the time Lynnwood police got to the parking lot and spoke to the woman, the Honda was headed south on Highway 99, according to police. Seattle police later found the suspected thief.
The man was also the suspect in more than one hit-and-run in Snohomish County. Police have impounded his RV for a search warrant, according to the news release.
The intersection of 36th Avenue W and 196th SW was temporarily closed while authorities investigated the carjacking.
