TACOMA — Tacoma police have released the names of two officers involved in a fatal shooting.
The News Tribune reported that Officer Scott Campbell is accused of opening fire at Jacqueline Salyers on Jan. 28. He and his partner, Aaron Joseph, were placed on administrative leave but have since returned to work.
Police say the officers approached Salyers in her vehicle because a passenger in her car had outstanding warrants. Police say Salyers accelerated toward the officers, causing the officers to shoot. Salyers died at the scene and her passenger ran. He was later arrested.
