Police investigate theft from homeowners association near Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a man suspected of stealing funds from a homeowners association.

Officers of a small homeowners association, consisting of about 20 homes near Lynnwood, called the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office when they discovered earlier this month that funds from the association’s account were missing, according to court documents.

“We are in a very early stage of an investigation,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover.

A former association treasurer, who served between 2006 and 2010, is suspected of taking almost $85,000 from the association’s account. He has not been arrested.
