MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — Police in south-central Idaho are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman found not breathing in a garage and bleeding profusely from her abdominal area.
Mountain Home Police say they responded to a report of a shooting at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and began life saving measures, but the woman died after being transported to St. Luke’s Elmore in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home Police Officer Melanie Broughton says police were told that the woman was on the phone with a relative cleaning a gun when the shooting occurred.
Broughton says no foul play is suspected.
Broughton on Wednesday says an autopsy hasn’t been performed and she didn’t have a cause of death. The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
Broughton says police are continuing their investigation.
