EVERETT – Everett Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man by a homeowner in north Everett.
Police said the man, described as being in his 20s, was shot at about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the front yard of a home in the 1800 block of Chestnut Street. Medics performed lifesaving measures but he died at the scene.
The resident was returning home when he had a confrontation with the man in his front yard, police said. The homeowner yelled for his wife to call 911 and multiple shots were fired. The relationship between the men was unknown.
The identity and cause of death will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
