MONROE – Police on Thursday were searching for a man who allegedly broke into his estranged wife’s house and stabbed another man.
Someone called 911 just after 2 a.m. Thursday to report that a man had been assaulted.
Witnesses told Monroe officers that the suspect broke into the house and confronted the man, who had been sleeping.
Two children and the suspect’s estranged wife also were sleeping in the house at the time of the assault.
There was some sort of altercation and the victim was stabbed multiple times, Monroe police administrative director Debbie Willis said.
He was taken to the hospital. An update of his condition was not available.
The suspect fled the house, located in the 16800 block of Odom Lane SE.
He may be driving a red 1999 Chrysler 300M with the Washington license plate 100 UCQ.
Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
