KETTLE FALLS — Police say they have arrested a 28-year-old man who called a Washington businessman and his family terrorists, threatened them with a knife and broke into their home.
The Spokesman-Review reported that Preet Moudgil, who was born in India, manages Kettle Falls Inn and lives there with his family. He says a man began making racist comments when he visited the lobby to request an item for a motel room.
Court records say the man came back with a knife, threatened to hurt Moudgil and later entered his apartment where using a sliding glass door only accessible by the roof.
Moudgil says he is a U.S. citizen and that his family is Sikh and Hindu.
The man has been charged with assault, burglary and malicious mischief.
