EVERETT – Traffic was backed up for miles along I-5 during the morning commute while police searched for the driver of a stolen car.
An officer stopped the man, who jumped out of the car and ran into the median, according to Sgt. Boyd Bryant. Police dogs tracked the man to the 6400 block of South Second Avenue.
Police closed down both lanes of the freeway near Highway 526. The freeway was reopened just after 9:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
