COUPEVILLE – Police continued to search Tuesday for a man suffering from short-term memory loss who failed to return to his group home on Monday.
Gregory M. Haverfield, 59, left a workshop on south Whidbey Island about 10:30 a.m. about three miles from the Clinton ferry dock, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
Police believe Haverfield may have tried to get to his former homes in Anacortes, Lake Forest Park or Seattle.
He may have been spotted about 11:30 a.m. in Mukilteo waiting for a Seattle-bound bus, sheriff’s spokesman Jan Smith said.
Haverfield requires medication, but doesn’t have it with him, police said.
He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a tan jacket and slacks, and a green and brown plaid long-sleeve shirt.
Anyone who has seen Haverfield is asked to call 911 or 360-679-9567.
