ARLINGTON — Police searched without success for a man who robbed a bank in Arlington on Friday morning.
The man entered the US Bank branch shortly before 11 a.m. He handed a note to a teller implying that he was armed, Arlington city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
The suspect ran from the bank in the 17100 block of Smokey Point Boulevard. He took an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses described the suspect as between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was described as white, with a medium-to-heavy build and short brown hair. The man was clean shaven, wore small silver-framed, reading-type glasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt turned inside out, blue jeans, dark-colored shoes and a white baseball cap.
Officers from Arlington Police Department, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and the Stillaguamish Tribal Police Department arrived at the bank within minutes of the initial 911 call but were unable to locate the suspect.
A Lynnwood police dog couldn’t track the suspect.
Investigators were able to collect evidence that could assist in identifying the suspect, Banfield said.
Anyone with information that might help the investigation or who can identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the Arlington Police Department at 360-403-3400.
