SULTAN – Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman Friday night.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies about 8:30 p.m. received reports of a person hit by a car on the 311 Avenue SE Bridge just south of U.S. 2, Sultan Police Chief Jeff Brand said. The woman was dead when they arrived. Deputies also found two men at the scene.
The woman was later identified as a longtime Sultan resident.
Witnesses told deputies that a nondescript vehicle was southbound on the bridge when it hit the woman. The vehicle reportedly continued without stopping, Brand said.
Detectives from the sheriff’s collision investigation unit are working on the case, he said. They believe the vehicle that hit the woman will have fresh damage on the front, possibly on the right side.
Anyone with information is asked to call detective Joe Goffin at 425-388-5436.
