EVERETT – Police are searching for a motorist who struck and killed a bicyclist on the 112th Street overpass at I-5 Monday evening.
“We need to speak to him. We’re asking for the public’s help,” Everett police Lt. Ted Olafson said Monday night.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, with a heavy build, dark hair and a mustache. The man may have been driving a blue Chevy Lumina that may have damage to its right headlight.
Anyone with information may call the police traffic investigation unit at 425-257-8453.
Olafson said the man on the bicycle was going westbound about 5:47 p.m. when he fell into the street and was hit by the car. The driver stopped, and walked back toward the scene, but then fled in his vehicle, the lieutenant said.
Everett fire personnel provided aid, but the victim died while being taken to a local hospital, Olafson said.
