EVERETT – Police are looking for a stolen pickup truck that may have struck and killed a man in a hit-and-run crash early this morning.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1100 block of 128th Street SW, near E. Gibson Road, about 12:30 a.m., Lt. John Flood said. They found a 45-year-old man dead. His name wasn’t released.
A witness told detectives he saw a dark-colored pickup truck. The description matched the vehicle involved in a separate incident: Another hit-and-run that was reported earlier outside a tavern at 148th Street SW and Highway 99 near Lynnwood. Nobody was hurt in that incident.
“We think these incidents are connected,” Flood said.
Detectives were able to find the pickup’s owner, but he told them the truck had been stolen. They believe the owner is innocent, Flood said.
Police are looking for a dark-blue 2005 Ford Ranger with a Washington license plate B35457F. If you see that truck, call 911.
Detectives also are asking anyone who may have witnessed the fatal hit-and-run to call 911 or the sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
