The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help identifying a robbery suspect.
Deputies said a young man attempted to shoplift items from a WalMart store at 1400 164th St. SW, Lynnwood on Oct. 17.
When he was confronted by store security, the suspect allegedly assaulted the security officer while fleeing from the store, said Kevin Prentiss, sheriff’s office bureau chief.
The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. He has brown hair and glasses. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, black and gray plaid coat, and blue jeans.

Oct. 29: Narcotics. 8600 block 240th St. SW. A vehicle stop located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Oct.28: Impound. 22700 block 76th Ave W. An abandoned vehicle was partially blocking 76th Avenue. The vehicle was missing an engine and the left rear tire.
LYNNWOOD/BRIER
Oct. 27: Humane. 22900 block 29th Ave. W. A Brier man reported his pet rabbit was killed during the night by dogs who forced entry into its cage. He suspects neighboring dogs.
Oct. 27: Suspicious circumstances. 23800 block Brier Road. A Brier woman reported an unknown man driving a red truck pulled up to her 10-year-old daughter and her friend while they were walking and asked them if they wanted to “make out.”
Oct. 21: Robbery. 2600 block 196th St. SW. A man was robbed of his medical marijuana.
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE
Oct. 29: Domestic disturbance. 21900 block 58th Ave. W. A couple argued after the girlfriend forced her boyfriend to leave a bar where a group of people wanted to fight him. She wouldn’t say who, and her boyfriend got upset.
Oct. 27: Theft from building. 6600 block 244th St. SW. An employee said the safe at work appeared to have been tampered with. Two events occurred at the venue and people were seen in the hallway where the safe is located.
Oct. 27: Theft from auto. 21500 block 48th Ave. W. A man said his truck was broken into and tools were stolen. Total for damages and stolen items came to $380.
Oct. 26: Trespassing. 23300 block 56th Ave. W. A man who was trespassed from a church for threatening patrons with a knife violated his restraining order.
FIRE DISTRICT 1
Oct. 26: Chimney fire. 24100 block of 52nd Ave. W. Firefighters extinguished a chimney fire at a home in Mountlake Terrace.
Oct. 25: Collision. 22800 block of Cedar Way S. A two-car collision was reported in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Oct. 20: Collision. Intersection of Filbert and North roads. A two-car head on collision was reported at an intersection east of Lynnwood. The driver of one vehicle was trapped between his seat and steering wheel. Firefighters used rescue tools to free the driver and transported him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Firefighters transported the driver of the second car to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Oct. 20: Collision. 21900 block of Highway 99. A three-car collision occurred in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Oct. 20: Fall. 6300 block of Picnic Point Road. A man fell eight feet onto concrete inside a building north of Edmonds. Firefighters transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.
Oct. 20: Fire. 86th Place W and Main Street. Firefighters responded to a fire in a delivery truck in Edmonds.
