ARLINGTON — Police are looking for a man suspected of attempting to rob two espresso stands here Saturday afternoon.
The first attempted robbery was reported at a stand in the 500 block of N. Olympic Avenue around 1:30 p.m. A worker told police that a man implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the cash register. The victim refused to give him money and locked the stand window. The suspect ran.
A second stand was hit a little before 2 p.m. in the 17300 block of Smokey Point Boulevard. Again, a man implied he had a weapon. The worker gave him the money he demanded and he ran. Police did not say how much was taken.
The suspect in both cases is described as a white man in his late 20s. He is about 6 feet tall and skinny with brown eyes, brown hair and scruffy facial hair. He reportedly wore a camouflage sweatshirt and jeans.
It is unclear whether the suspect in these robberies is the same man police around the county are searching for after five other espresso stand robberies over the last two weeks.
