EVERETT – Everett police were looking for a trio of shoplifting suspects who reportedly knocked down a woman while they were fleeing this afternoon, sending her to the hospital.
The mayhem took place at the Safeway at 41st and Rucker, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Three men ran out of the grocery store with stolen beer, he said. They knocked a woman, 77, to the ground.
Then two suspects jumped into a white four-door sedan that was waiting for them, Goetz said. One suspect ran off.
As the car sped out of the parking lot, it clipped the woman who’d been knocked down earlier, leaving her with a cut face. She was taken to a local hospital where she was talking with detectives, Goetz said.
Police are hoping to review surveillance video to get better descriptions of the suspects.
