SNOHOMISH — A teenager fired a shotgun at his estranged girlfriend and then died in an apparent suicide Friday afternoon in Snohomish, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The young man, 19, of Snohomish, arrived at the home of the girlfriend, 17, around 3:10 p.m. He was reportedly armed with a shotgun, according to the sheriff’s office.
“After a brief verbal confrontation, and an attempt by the male to gain entry to the house, the female was able to escape from the house through a second story window and flee the scene,” the sheriff’s office reported.
The boyfriend fired at least one round in the girl’s direction as she fled the home on Meadow Place. She was not hit.
Deputies found the man dead outside. He had apparently taken his own life, according to the sheriff’s office.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
