EVERETT — Police and firefighters are trying to determine if three fires that occurred in Everett between Sunday night and Tuesday morning are connected.
Fire experts are trying to determine if they were intentionally set.
No one was hurt in any of the fires.
The first fire occurred around 11:45 p.m. Sunday at an empty house in the 2800 block of Cedar Street. Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames and smoke coming from the house. Damage was estimated at $65,000.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday, fire crews were called to a blaze in the 5700 block of Cady Road. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, a fire occurred at an empty house in the 5000 block of South 3rd Avenue. Firefighters found flames at the back of the house. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
Everett fire officials said a Dumpster fire around 5 a.m. in the 2900 block of Pine Avenue does not appear to be related to the others.
In that instance, police officers were responding to an assault report when they observed the Dumpster fire.
Police arrested an Everett man, 38, for investigation of arson.
“At this time detectives do not believe this incident is related to the other fires,” Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.
