SNOHOMISH — Police have warned students to be on the lookout for a man who tried to persuade a teenage girl to approach is car.
The girl was walking from the high school to her vehicle Tuesday afternoon when the suspect drove by and asked her to come to his car, according Sgt. Rick Johnson. He said he had a question for her. The girl refused twice, and the man left.
The suspect, a white man, was driving an older, two-door, black sports car, Johnson said. No other description was available.
School officials notified students of the incident Tuesday afternoon.
In light of recent abductions in Tacoma and Florida, police wanted to remind students not to talk to strangers, Johnson said.
A Florida girl was abducted while walking home from a friend’s house earlier this month. Her body was found two miles away.
A disabled girl, 10, was abducted Feb. 14 from a Tacoma Safeway and sexually assaulted before she fled from the suspect.
