MUKILTEO — Two armed robbery suspects are in custody after a brief standoff early Wednesday morning.
The incident began on 128th Street in Everett at around 1 a.m. when a women met with two men to buy drugs, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The trio met in a vehicle and the primary suspect, a 31 year-old Mukilteo man, allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded she give him her purse. When she refused, he allegedly struck her in the head, stole her purse and fled with a second suspect.
The victim, who knew the Mukilteo man, went to suspect’s house to get her money back. When people inside the home refused to answer the door, the victim called 911 around 2:15 a.m. Patrol officers arrived at the home but the suspect refused to leave the house.
Meanwhile, other officers located the second robbery suspect, a 25-year-old Mukilteo man, and his girlfriend, 29. They were taken into custody.
After lengthy negotiations with the prime suspect’s mother, who was inside the home, the man surrendered around 5:30 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident.
The robbery is being investigated by the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit.
