Gov. Gary Locke has endorsed David Simpson in his Democratic primary race against Mike Sells for the 38th District representative position.
The governor, in a news release, said Simpson did a great job as a freshman legislator.
Locke cited Simpson’s work in getting $50,000 in state funds for Providence Everett Health Care Clinic’s new program that serves Medicare, Medicaid and uninsured patients.
Simpson was appointed by the Snohomish County Council to the representative position in January, replacing Jean Berkey, who was appointed to the Senate when Aaron Reardon became county executive.
The primary is Sept. 14.
