Gov. Gary Locke has decided to support both of the two Democratic candidates seeking a 38th Legislative District House seat.
On Monday, he endorsed labor leader Mike Sells, noting in a prepared statement that Sells’ “accomplishments over the past 30 years demonstrate your commitment” to Snohomish County residents.
Two weeks ago, Locke endorsed Rep. David Simpson in his bid to retain the legislative seat to which he was appointed in January by the Snohomish County Council.
Both candidates say they will use Locke’s endorsement in their campaign materials leading to their face-off in the Sept. 14 primary.
