Marysville mayor to run for re-election
MARYSVILLE — Mayor Jon Nehring has announced that he plans to run in the November election to retain the seat he was appointed to in August.
Nehring, 40, was unanimously appointed by the Marysville City Council to serve the remainder of Dennis Kendall’s term after he announced his retirement.
“I know I want to continue on this position. I wouldn’t have made myself available to fulfill the remainder of Dennis’ term if I wasn’t sure,” Nehring said.
Prior to serving as mayor, Nehring served more than eight years on the Marysville City Council, with four of those years as mayor pro tem.
Nehring represents the city on the Community Transit Board of Directors, the Snohomish County Tomorrow Committee and serves as vice chairman of the Snohomish County Emergency Radio System board of directors.
Nehring and his wife, Mari-Anne, have three children: Nathan, Kristin and Nicholas.
