Two ice cream social fundraisers are planned for Snohomish County Sheriff candidate John Lovick.

Frances Stewart plans one fundraiser for 6 p.m. Aug. 11 at 2602 Cadet Way in Everett. Call 425-338-5298 if you plan to attend.

Liz Loomis plans a second ice cream social fundraiser for 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Hill Park Picnic Shelter, 1610 Park Ave., Snohomish. Contact Loomis at lizloomis@comcast.net.

The primary election is Aug. 21. The two candidates who earn the most votes will move on to the general election in November.

Snohomish council hopeful plans event

A candidate for Snohomish City Council plans a campaign kickoff event from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at Karen’s Garden &Art Studio, 230 Ave. B.

Karen Guzak is running for the council’s Position 2 this fall.

There will be live music, food and drinks at the campaign kickoff.
