An ice cream social fundraiser planned for Snohomish County sheriff candidate John Lovick on Saturday in Everett has been canceled.

A second ice cream social fundraiser, held by Liz Loomis, is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 at Hill Park Picnic Shelter, 1610 Park Ave., Snohomish. Contact Loomis at lizloomis@ comcast.net.

The primary election is Aug. 21. The two candidates for sheriff who earn the most votes will move on to the general election in November.
