Community activist Ellen Hiatt Watson has received the Democratic Party’s nomination in her challenge to incumbent Snohomish County Councilman John Koster.
Watson formed the 7-Lakes group to preserve rural areas and has led efforts opposing large rural developments. A Stanwood resident, she is married with two children.
Koster, of Arlington, is currently the lone Republican on the five-member council. He is seeking election to a third term in November representing the council’s 1st District, which includes the northern part of the county.
