The Port Gardner Rotary Club of Everett on Oct. 18 presented $15,000 to six local nonprofits:
– Hands for Peacemaking, $1,000, to provide library materials in two remote villages in Barillas, Guatemala
– Hands for Peacemaking, $6,000, to be used for the building of schools, installation of cooking stoves to replace open fires and water catchment systems for remote villages in Barillas, Guatemala.
– Cura Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, $1,750, for educational expenses
– Healing the Children Foundation, $3,500, for medical expenses
– Living Water International, $1,750, to build wells in Liberia
– Living Water International, $1,000, for aid to Puerto Rico recovery
