PORTLAND, Ore. — A 1-year-old boy died in southeast Portland on Saturday morning after falling into a water display in his family’s yard.
The boy was not identified Saturday afternoon. The Oregon State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Sunday to determine the cause of death.
Portland police officers responded to the residence and found the boy unconscious. Rescue personnel arrived and tried to save the child, who was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
