PORTLAND, Ore. — Police say officers who stopped a minivan for a traffic infraction in northeast Portland found 42 kilograms — more than 92 pounds — of cocaine after getting the driver’s consent to search the vehicle.
Police say the vehicle was stopped Friday on northbound Interstate 205. With the help of a drug detection dog, officers found the drugs in four duffel bags in a hidden compartment in the floor.
Investigators believe the cocaine was destined for Canada.
Arrested for investigation of possession and delivery of cocaine was the driver, 51-year-old Kevin Maurice Landers. Police say he is a U.S. citizen who lives in British Columbia.
