POST, Ore. — Authorities say a Crook County resident used a blow torch to assault a woman who he allegedly held captive for nearly three weeks.
KTVZ-TV reports 34-year-old Josef Taylor was arrested on kidnap, assault and burglary charges Tuesday.
Taylor has been accused of locking the woman in his cabin in Post for about 20 days.
In a news release Wednesday, Gautney said the woman had managed to escape and flee to a neighboring house. Gautney says the victim suffered minor injuries resulting from a blow torch.
Responding deputies found evidence of the kidnapping and assault as well as evidence from burglaries in the area.
The victim reportedly has a no-contact order against Taylor.
Taylor’s attorney Fred Bennett said he is preparing the case and can’t yet make a comment.
