SUNNYSIDE — Police say a 12-year-old girl who was struck by a pickup truck in Sunnyside is being flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A 10-year-old boy and 7-year-old boy who were walking with the girl were not struck but suffered minor injuries in the situation about 7 a.m. Monday on the Yakima Valley Highway.
Police say the driver was headed east and didn’t see the children crossing the highway because of the sunlight in his eyes.
