MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police in Mountlake Terrace are continuing to investigate an accidental shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the 4600 block of 223rd St. SW.
An Everett man, 37, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his friend, 35, accidentally shot him in the thigh at close range with a shotgun, Mountlake Terrace police Cmdr. Doug Hansen said.
The friends had been drinking when they decided to bring out the shotgun, Hansen said.
“They were both convinced it was empty,” Hansen said.
Police could arrest the 35-year-old man for investigation of reckless endangerment or third-degree assault, he said.
