CLEARVIEW — A Clearview woman said all her valuables were missing after someone who said he was a real estate agent visited her home.
Luanne Lowe said she received a call from a man who said he was an agent with a client interested in touring the home.
On Thursday night, Lowe left her home to give the prospective buyer some space. She returned to find her doors unlocked and several valuables missing.
“It’s a real violation,” she said. “I can’t even believe that someone would do something like this.”
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies are investigating, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
If the person who entered Lowe’s home accessed keys in a special lockbox used by real estate agents, there may be some clues. A real estate agent told Lowe that the lockboxes used by real estate agents are electronic and keep records of who gains entry.
In February, deputies were called by a Snohomish woman when she discovered missing jewelry after an agent toured her property, Hover said.
“We don’t know if these two (thefts) are connected,” Hover said. “It’s a good time to remind people to secure their valuables if they’re selling their home and it’s going to be shown.”
People also should keep a record of serial numbers of valuable items to help detectives track stolen goods, she said.
