MONROE — Repairing flood damage on Index-Galena Road is the focus of a public hearing and open house scheduled for the evening of Oct. 12.
Snohomish County Public Works officials scheduled the event to gather comments on an environmental document about the proposed work between mileposts 6.4 and 6.9.
The meeting is set for 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Frank Wagner Elementary, 115 Dickinson Road, Monroe.
Public works crews have repaired 10 of 11 areas of the road that were damaged during heavy rains in 2006. The upcoming repairs would focus on the only section of the road that remains closed to traffic. County engineers have been examining ways to alter the road alignment to save costs. Design, permitting and environmental review are expected to last through next year, with construction possible in the spring of 2018.
