Public’s help sought in officer-involved shooting near Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — Investigators are again asking people to come forward who may have seen an officer-involved shooting last weekend near Lynnwood.

Justin Gaswint, 32, was fatally shot Saturday during a confrontation with a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy. The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. on the 164th Street I-5 overpass.

The incident is under investigation by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, which includes major-case detectives from throughout the county and investigates shootings involving police officers.

Detectives have viewed nearby surveillance video and saw dozens of cars drive by the scene, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said Thursday.

They are asking anyone who saw anything that morning to call 425-257-8450.
