TACOMA — The Puyallup Fair wraps up a 17-day run on Sunday for the last time with that name.
Spokeswoman Karen LaFlamme says the new name will be the Washington State Fair.
She told The News Tribune the change will recognize all the people from across the state who compete at the fair. She also says the name change will help attract big-name entertainers to the fair. It’s one of the biggest fairs in the nation, attracting more than a million people a year.
LaFlamme says the fair will keep its “Do the Puyallup” slogan for its identity and marketing.
