Fiction meets reality when Stephen Colbert and Bill O’Reilly lock horns on each others show next week.
Colbert will appear as a guest on O’Reilly’s Fox News show while O’Reilly does the same on Jan. 18. I’m not entirely sure who’s doing who the favor, but it’ll be a fun little spectacle as the brilliant, faux-egomaniac Colbert meets up wiith his real-life opposite.
“I’m really looking forward to speaking to a man who owes his entire career to me,” O’Reilly says, apparently not realizing he’s being mocked.
Colbert portrays himself as a blindly devout conserative pundit on his show, “The Colbert Report,” frequently asking his guests such as, “George W. Bush: Great President, or The Greatest President?”
For his part, Colbert said, “I look forward to the evening. It is an honor to speak face-to-face with a broadcasting legend, and I feel the same way about Mr. O’Reilly.”
