MONROE — Firefighters on Saturday evening pulled four stranded rafters from the Skykomish River.
Two men and two women were floating down the Skykomish River in inflatable rafts shortly after 5 p.m. when one of the rafts hit a tree and began to sink not far from the Lewis Street boat launch. The two couples held on to a log while rescue crews quickly launched a boat to bring them to shore, said Pat Gjerde from the Monroe Fire District.
