STANWOOD — The railroad tracks through Stanwood have reopened.
City officials blocked the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks at Florence Drive with mounds of dirt to keep floodwaters from spilling into downtown.
The flooding threat has diminished enough to open the tracks, said Mike Simmons, emergency management coordinator for the Stanwood Camano Fire Department.
It’s unclear when the trains will run again, he said.
