Rain early on Tuesday kept Washington State Patrol troopers busy on highways throughout Snohomish County.
Troopers recorded 16 collisions on state roads between midnight and about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, trooper Keith Leary said. Three of the crashes involved minor injuries. Fortunately, nobody was seriously hurt.
Most collisions happened because drivers were going too fast for the weather or following too close, Leary said.
Nine crashes occurred on I-5, others on state roads throughout the county.
Motorists should remember to modify driving habits to match rainy weather, Leary said.
“I never thought we’d be saying that in Washington, but it’s one of the things we have to keep in the back of our minds,” he said.
