EVERETT — Vandals on Tuesday apparently targeted the rainbow flag on display at Trinity Episcopal Church on Hoyt Avenue, church leaders said.
They made a report to Everett police just before 4 p.m. No suspects had been identified as of Wednesday, officer Aaron Snell said.
Church officials say two people lowered the rainbow flag and removed it with a knife. They suspect the thieves sought to disrespect their welcoming message for the LGBTQ community.
They plan to replace the flag as soon as possible.
