SNOHOMISH — Someone opened fire on three houses along E. Lowell-Larimer Road on Monday in what appeared to be a random drive-by shooting.
Just after midnight, residents in the 7400 and 7500 blocks of E. Lowell-Larimer Road were awakened by gunshots and bullets hitting their homes, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
The residents found several bullet holes inside and outside their houses, she said.
"One bullet went inside a young girl’s room while she was sleeping," Jorgensen said.
No one was injured in the shootings.
There were no suspect descriptions, and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
Police recovered several spent rifle shells along with intact shells. Police continue to investigate the shooting.
This is the second incident in a little more than a month where someone has opened fired on occupied houses.
In early November, a 90-year-old woman was nearly struck by a bullet when someone randomly fired at her home and two others along 19th Street SE under the Hewitt Avenue Trestle.
The bullets shattered windows, ricocheted off furniture and became lodged in walls.
No one has been arrested in connection with that shooting either, Jorgensen said.
She did not know if the two incidents are connected.
"They could be related. It appears that both were random," she said.
A third shooting also had been reported earlier this year along Connelly Road, just a couple miles from the latest shooting.
The suspect used a rifle to shoot at homes with lights on, Jorgensen said.
"We’re very fortunate no one was injured," Jorgensen said. "It is totally irresponsible and eventually these people will be caught."
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
