MARBLEMOUNT — Rangers are searching for a hiker three days overdue from a backpacking trip in North Cascades National Park.
Park spokeswoman Paula Ogden-Muse says Mark Albrecht, a 22-year-old who recently moved to Everett from Indiana, had a permit to camp in the Cascade Pass area Monday and Tuesday nights. He never called his parents to say he got home safely, and he didn’t show up for work Thursday.
Rangers found his car Friday evening at a trail head and began searching first thing Saturday. Skagit County Search and Rescue joined the effort Saturday afternoon.
