BREMERTON — Naval Base Kitsap police are investigating the discovery of seven “razor blade traps” aboard vessels at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton.
Shipyard spokeswoman Mary Anne Mascianica said Thursday the blades were apparently staged to injure people. The first was discovered in January. Six others were found last week.
No injuries have been reported. The shipyard issued a safety alert to workers last week. Ships have also been inspected.
The traps included razor blades wedged between lockers and other objects with sharp sides exposed.
