OLYMPIA – A three-day razor-clam dig has been approved for Washington’s ocean beaches over the holiday.
Digging will be allowed Sunday, from noon to midnight, at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis, Mocrocks and Kalaloch. All except Copalis will be open from noon to midnight Monday as well.
Twin Harbors will be open for a third evening Tuesday, noon to midnight.
Fishery managers approved the digs Thursday after marine toxin tests showed the clams to be safe for eating.
Harvesters are allowed to take no more than 15 razor clams and must keep the first 15 they dig, regardless of size or condition. A license is required for anyone age 15 or older.
