Did you forget to recycle your Christmas tree with your local troop of Boy Scouts?
Well, you’re in luck.
Everett Community College is offering free tree recycling.
Drop your tree off at EvCC and you’ll help the college’s facilities and grounds department, which is always looking to save money on landscaping and mulch costs.
Trees must be unflocked and all decorations and tinsel must be removed.
Directions to the drop-off site: Go west on Tower Street from the corner of Broadway and Tower Street. Continue straight up the college’s service drive and look for a drop-off spot on the right by the recycling dumpster. There should be a sign.
“There is no rush,” said college spokeswoman Jenny Zuvela. “We’ll accept trees from now until they stop being dropped off.”
Note: If your Christmas tree is still standing decorated in the living room, be warned:
Dried-out trees kept indoors too long become extremely flammable and pose a serious fire risk.
