TULALIP — Human bones found during a search for a missing 24-year-old man have been identified as another man missing for almost three years.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner identified the remains as Shawn Bond. They were found during a search for clues to the whereabouts of Jacob Hilkin near the Tulalip Resort Casino, Tulalip Bingo Hall and Quil Ceda Creek Casino along 27th Avenue NE. That search did not yield any tips about Hilkin. It did, however, turn up answers to another disappearance.
Bond was reported missing by his family in July 2015. The 37-year-old man was transient and lived with untreated mental health issues and drug addiction, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Cause and manner of death are pending determination by the medical examiner.
