EVERETT — Rescue crews responded to a boating accident and a distress call Saturday evening.
Island County Fire and Rescue crews were called about 6 p.m. to a sailboat in Puget Sound near Everett, according to a U.S. Coast Guard spokesman. A member of the crew suffered a head injury and was transported to an Everett hospital.
Another rescue team just before 7 p.m. responded to a distress call off Ebey Island, Snohomish County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Brand said. No one was hurt. A second boat was hauling the 18-foot pleasure boat to shore, Brand said.
