ENUMCLAW — Dozens of people searched Friday for a 4-year-old boy who became separated from his mother on a hike near this southeast King County town.
The boy was last seen shortly after 11 a.m. Friday and was reported missing about 1 p.m. He had been hiking with his mother and several other children but ran ahead around a bend and disappeared.
The hikers were at the 1,200-foot level of Pinnacle Peak, also called Mount Peak, southeast of here when the boy disappeared, said King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sharon Rieg.
The family previously lived in the area and was back for a visit. The sheriff’s office was not identifying the boy.
King County sheriff’s officers led a group of 50 to 70 searchers, aided by dogs and a county sheriff’s helicopter.
