Japanese maples, with their graceful branch structure and leaf colors, are so captivating to Sharon Ronsse she’s willing to go to a lot of expense, time and trouble to dig them out of people’s yards – even when they weigh several tons.
I wrote a story on that subject, published today.
This morning local Charlie Morgan let me know about his passion for collecting Japanese maples. He has more than 300 different cultivars and he has built a special garden at his parents’ home to display them in a garden setting. His hobby has turned into a quasi-business where he buys them from people’s yards and resells them. His Web site is www.amazingmaples.com
